Hi! Former regular, back with a question.
The living room, entryway, breakfast, and kitchen is all currently painted SW Sands of Time. We have 2 accent walls, currently painted SW Pennywise.

Overall, I'm feeling like the room is just way too dark and overbearing. I think the Sands of Time (combined with poor lighting) is the bulk of the problem, but repainting that is a no-go at this point. Just way too much time and effort involved in painting 4 rooms wiht a dozen doors and windows to deal with.
BUT, redoing the accent walls is a possibility. Any thoughts on possible fresher accents for this? I've thought about blues, but it seems like that wouldn't really help with the darkness. I've also thought about just making those walls a lighter shade on the same card (SW Pacer White), but I worry that that would just look stupid AND be kindof boring (I mean, tan and beige? really?)
Curtains are chocolate brown and also won't be changing unless I can find an amazing deal on some. Couch is being replaced within the next 6 months, so that's also a nonissue.
Any ideas or thought-starters would be most appreciated! I keep going around and around. Paint is usually such an easy thing, but with 2 little kids running around, the time it takes to do (and do-over) makes it more of a permanent decision than it normally would be.
Thanks!
