Anyone had trim re-painted in a house?

I know we could DIY, but I am pregnant and we have a toddler - trying to debate if we can afford to have it re-painted.  If you've had it done, or had it quoted, what did it run (price/linear ft or size of house?).  We are likely buying a house that has tan/gray-ish/cream trim and I'd really prefer a creamy-white.

Re: Anyone had trim re-painted in a house?

  • This is an area specific question. Call some painters and get a quote. Always the best idea to get a true idea of what the cost would be.
  • We actually found it was cheaper to replace all the trim rather than have it painted.  Our contractor bought the new trim for us, we painted it with a gun in our garage, he installed.  Our old trim was completely ugly anyway so that worked out best for us. It may be easiest for you all to carefully remove it, then spray it and reinstall. Painting trim that has already been installed is a nightmare.
