I've been on birth control pills (7 or 8 different kinds) for 12ish years.  It took me a while to find a pill that didn't cause side effects.

When I went off them to TTC, it took me about 11 months to get pregnant.  But I really doubt it had anything to do with the pills.  I have really long, irregular cycles without the hormones so I'm assuming that's why it took so long.

Like others said, I was more concerned about my age than my BCP when it came to getting pregnant.

I've been on BC since I was 16 for cycle issues (really heavy and for weeks at a time). I have not gained weight but I noticed that my hair has gotten thinner. Last year I went off of my Nuvaring for 8 months because I wanted to see if I could be normal without it. After about 2 months I started having irregular periods again, and I went back on it in June. It took two months to get my cycle back to normal and I had a light p for over a month! I will not be going off of BC again until I'm ready to get pregnant.

I went off BC earlier this year. My periods were regular the 1st month. I have been on a variety if BC for 10 years. The depo shots caused me to not have a period for 1 year. The patch made me highly emotional. I do not plan to go back on BC after we have children, as we will use natural birth control methods.
