Thanks everyone! Little miss Athena did awesome and is now home and seems to be feeling better every second. Her brothers are being very patient and understanding around her and so far she has only tried to lick her stiches once! She's a trooper! :)

Glad to hear she's doing well!

  • We got our dog spayed at just under six months and everything went very smoothly. We were also worried about her tearing her stitches or keeping her from moving around too much, and in the end it all turned out fine. We purchased a cone but ended up not using it because the poor thing kept running into walls and giving us this pitiful look and she barely even knew she had an incision. You really only need to keep them "calm" for a couple days, Mika was up and running the next day and nothing bad happened.
