Re: (Untitled)
We had the same dilemma. We opted for a 1920 semi-fixer upper with more sqft. over something move-in ready. I personally love being able to redo things exactly the way I want them.
There have been times that we regretted it I have to admit (kitchen renovation took longer and uncovered some headaches), but overall I am so happy with this charming house because I can envision what it will be one day. The times we regret it are mostly because my husband and I are just not handy DIYers. We try, and it's been fun and bonding at times and really trying other times. Everything costs more than you think it will, but it's worth it if you want to keep the wonderful character of a home. I think sqft is really important for room to grow, so that was a key factor in our decision. Ultimately, where do you see yourself enjoying life?
