Blackout curtains: grommet top vs. rod pocket
Both are going to let the same amount of light in around the top of the window right? Husband works nights, sleeps days, so we need the room as dark as possible. The curtains that I really want (gray blackout rod pocket) are sold out on Overstock. But I guess there's no reason I couldn't get grommet top, right?
The top of the window frame to the floor is 83", giving us an inch to play with at the top if I get 84" curtains-- not much. (The next biggest size is taller than our ceilings.) We were talking about building a cornice or box of some sort to put over the rod anyway to block light leaking in, so I suppose it really doesn't matter what top they have, right? Suggestions?
My favorite place on earth: The Amargosa Valley.

Get the longer and hem them. It will look much better. Check out this graphic on how and where to mount the curtain rod. Someone just recently pointed this out to me.
