Re: (Untitled)
I'm in MA. Romney makes Kerry look like the most devoted and steadfast politician the world has ever seen. He campaigned as a moderate R to become governor of a heavily left leaning state, and is suddenly claiming to be an uber conservative now that he's running for a national office in a party that has shifted dramatically to the right.
I would have thought Ryan would rip Biden in a debate until I saw his speach at the RNC. Short on specifics, and the facts that he provided were in many cases blatently wrong. I'm not sure what exactly happened to what I would consider one of the intellectual giants of the party, but I question how he's going to do if he performs the same way in a debate.
Biden doesn't have a grasp on the economic argument like Ryan does, and his fake folksy charm can only go so far. I don't get why Biden can act like an idiot, and the media explains it away by saying things like "that's just Joe." His foreign policy expertise is highly touted, but he's been wrong on most of the big international issues of the past few decades.
I just look to the Paul Ryan effect in Wisconsin. They know him best there, and the numbers have closed to a virtual tie in WI. I think the RCP average is under 2, and that isn't even taking into effect a possible convention bounce. There's also a Senate race where Tommy Thompson is beating Tammy Baldwin decisively in the polls. Sabato and RCP both have it leaning R, I'm pretty sure.
