Which would you rather?

I'm planning a soiree and originally wanted to have it on a Friday night.

The hubs, however, thinks Fridays are just not as do-able & that I'll have a better turn out on Saturday.

What do you think?

Re: Which would you rather?

  • What's your crowd like?  Are they working adults who have to commute a ways and will be beat after a long week?  Or are they younger and won't mind Friday?

If you want a blow-out, do Saturday.  If you want a casual hang-out, Friday night is great for people to have a drink and unwind after the week.

  • Hi!  Ditto the PP - plus some folks do like Friday night things if they are going away the next day.  My DH used to LOVE Fridays weddings because he could still get away for the weekend if we left the next am.

However... in my mind Saturday is the big party day. :)

  • There are too many factors- adult only, big blow out, casual, what sort of guest list.  It doesn't matter much to me, but most people I know are tired by the time the get home Friday night and don't want to go back out.

  • as long as its not a holiday weekend, Friday vs Saturday isn't that big of a deal unless you have a lot of friends coming with young children; make sure they have notice so they can get a sitter and then I would suggest Saturday because they can relax and get the kids set for the next day.
