surgery vent

hi all or who ever reads this,

on the 20th of august i had a third surgery on my right ankle, 2nd one since last year. before that my hubs and i took a vacation back to boston, kind of a postponed honeymoon and i gained a couple pounds. so what. well, after coming home, i lost 10 pounds in two weeks while eating raw veggies/fruit and made everything myself, as i usually do. since the 20th i have put the 10 pounds and then some because i can't walk without crutches, and am now just starting to do ab workouts without worrying of falling over. the point of this posting is to express how annoyed i am that i'm getting way out of shape and it's going to be wicked difficult to get back where i was. has anyone been in this rut? and i'm not talking about getting pregnant because you can still run while being prego. oy.

Re: surgery vent

  • I kind of have a similar situation. I was in a car accident last year, knee surgery in March. And I started doing yoga shortly there after. Then I got hurt / developed pain in my lower pelvis. They thought it was a variety of different things and over a year later and almost 30 lbs...I finally got my diagnosis. So I finally started physical therapy to correct the issue and working out every morning. So far I haven't seen a dramatic difference in the # on the scale, but the before / after photos of 2 weeks was a big difference. And my FI even tried to pinch my stomach last night and was like someone's toned up! I hardly have anything to grab. So just be paitent and stay motivated!

  • You lost ten pounds in two weeks?  You then gained ten pounds back in two weeks?

    Something isn't right in Whoville.

  • Just be patient. I agree that something isn't right with what you have gained/lost. Also, some may be attributed to water retention due to swelling/fluids in your leg. Give yourself a break and recover from your surgery before you jump into working out again. You want to make sure you are fully healed.
