Hey everyone! Some of you may remember I posted a little over a month ago in regards to my QH that was suffering from a DDFT strain.
Things have been a little insane (new job, starting the semester, etc.) so we've been going VERY slowly with recovery. Luckily, that's exactly what he needed.
Anywho! Bill has been without the boots for right around two weeks. He's been turned out daily (24 hour turnout since his paddock is attached to his stall). We've been doing some walking every other day or so (since my schedule's been a tad bit on the hectic side). No signs of heat/swelling.
I'm knocking on wood constantly, but so far, so good! I'm relieved that there are no signs of permanent damage, and no set-backs so far. I'll be keeping a close eye on it as we approach winter (and ice and slush and all of the wonderful things that could aggravate said injury). Hopefully we'll get back to a little bit of light riding before that time comes (since we'll then be nearly 6 months of iffy weather - thank you Northern Maine!)
Thanks to everyone who had posted with advice - it's much appreciated!
