Birthday

I don't usually post here but occasionally read through messages.  I just needed to get this off my chest.  It's 4:30pm and I think it's safe to say that my husband has forgotten my birthday.  I'm sad, need cake.

Re: Birthday

  • First, Happy birthday!

My husband has forgotten birthdays and anniversaries before. I just drop him a hint like "If we go to Chilli's, I can get a free birthday brownie!" and then he is harder on himself than I ever could be. He then works really hard for a few days to make it up to me. It's kind of awesome.

Love the advice PP has given here, and the pay off is right there. AND....Happy Birthday!!

  • Hah, I'm a very obnoxious person...so he definitely knows when it's my birthday...but my boyfriends birthday is four days after mine, so it's not exactly brain science...

Also, was this posted on the sex board? lol...

Some times they do legitimately forget.:)

Next year, do this: give him a wish list about a month before your birthday. The gifts need not be expensive --- just more or less do it as a reminder when your birthday is.;)
  • This is a great suggestion. There are lots of restaurants where you can get a good birthday dessert. It is always nice when DH remembers, but if he doesn't you can make sure you still have a fun day. I have been a widow for 7 years and I have gotten used to figuring it out myself. One year I planned my own birthday party at a restaurant with my girl friends.

Love this. Only my fiance hasn't forgotten my birthday (yet at least) lol. But my parents have and then they didn't understand why I thought it was a big deal, mind you I was 18 at the time.,,

Anyways, just drop a hint! He'll get the picture, just don't dwell on it. I tell my fiance things all the time and in one ear out the other. But if I write it down on the calendar he tends to remember.

  • i am sorry!!!  Happy birthday!! my birthday is tomorrow! MY BF has to work until 9 pm!  But my exboyfriend fixed my laptop, and My exhusband managed to give my alimony early! how is that for complicated?  can turning 40 get any worse??? my son I know will forget!
  • Great info. I'm the one that forgets in the relationship. But my hubby is ok with it cause I have a bad memory. Once I told hubby " you know what day it was last Friday?" " And he said, you're going to say our anniversary but that was actually the Week before." Needless to say we spcelebrate whenever I remember cause he doesn't like making me feel bad.
