Re: Weekend Plans?

  • We're going to tailgate at the OU game with a few friends and family. I'm super excited about that!

That's about all we have planned...  but it should be a good weekend hopefully!

  • Hmmm.....We are hostessing a couple's shower tomorrow night....then hanging out by the pool on Saturday, tailgating before the game, going to the game, then Sunday...more pool stuff.  I am pretty sure this is our last weekend for the pool so..... booooooo
  • We're finishing up some house projects we started last weekend, then going to a wedding Saturday night. Wish we were tailgating, but we couldn't really do that for an evening game this year anyways with baby G. DH is understandably disappointed that we have to go to a wedding, but I promised him we wouldn't stay that long at the reception so he can hopefully catch some of the game.

  • DH won't be home until Saturday (boo:( ), so tomorrow evening I'm planning on cleaning and catching up on laundry so I can be done with it for the weekend!  Saturday afternoon I'm taking G to a family birthday party, then Saturday evening will be spent at home relaxing with DH, with some football thrown in I'm sure.  Sunday will hopefully be spent at home being lazy.

I am sorry, but I can't help but side eye the individuals that have a wedding the evening of a home game. Good Lord.

I'm sure the wedding was booked before the schedule was released. I booked my venues a full year in advance (and had to) so scheduling around football didn't come into play.

  • A student is playing with the OU Pride at the Band and Spirit Day, so I'm going to that and to the game. Sunday I start community band at a nearby university. A very music-filled weekend in store.

    I know, I know.

The bride's family are all OSU fans and the groom is from out of state.

  • I had to schedule my wedding around OU and Texas. We were away at Baylor on my wedding day. ;)

No big plans this weekend. Thought about going to the zoo tomorrow, but with it being Saturday and the weather being nice, it'll probably be packed. So we may skip that. Otherwise, heading up to Guthrie with the pony on Sunday for a riding lesson.

  • Nothing except watching the game.  Hoping mom will offer to take tiny Saturday so we can go see a movie and have dinner alone.  It's been awhile.

  • Tonight we don't have anything planned. Saturday M has a birthday party for a classmate in the morning. Then we are tailgating at OU. M's first time at a home game. I am so excited! DH, FIL, and BIL are going to the game. M and I will go back home and jus hang out there. Sunday is DH's birthday and he said he wants to go eat at Chuy's. No other plans besides doing laundry and grocery shopping.

Interesting...did I know this? We were away at Baylor the day *after* our wedding day! But yes, we scheduled around OU and OSU football. Of course!

BIL and SIL were married on OU/TX weekend in Austin almost 8 years ago.....that was fun. To be fair the ceremony was after the game.

We originally had set our wedding date for June to avoid football season entirely, but family circumstances meant that we had to reschedule for the fall. We originally tossed around a date later in September, but it was a home OU game so I immediately said no way. Instead, I picked a day that we played Baylor away (this was before Baylor was semi-decent) and Texas was off since for some strange reason H and his family are fans. We didn't have too many OSU fans at our wedding, so I didn't worry much about their schedule. :)

I always wanted a fall wedding and we needed to be out of town for our honeymoon around Thanksgiving since DH was in law school. We picked that Friday. Baylor was away the next day.  People still b!tched because apparently some of DH's friends were going to go to Waco to the Baylor game which is horsesh!t because they didn't go to the game that year or any year prior or any year after. This past year, some of our friends got married on a Sunday, the day after Baylor but their rehearsal dinner was during the Baylor game (again, away game).  Same friends b!tched that they had wanted to go the game.  Rolling eyes.  DH's friends are more b!tchy than any of my girlfriends combined.  My dad wanted me to get married in December so we could have the reception at the Kerr McGee Club (they won't hold events there during the fall).  Yes, that is exactly how I want to start out married life, at the OU football stadium. NO THANK YOU!
