Black cabinets with black appliances?
We are getting ready to redo our kitchen and found some "slate" colored cabinets we love (almost black) but were planning on staying with black appliances to help with budget. We are planning on pitying in light colored granite countertops and light colored tile floor. My question.. Will the black on black be too much? Anyone have it that can show me? Our kitchen is small, but fairly open with a bay window, so I'm hoping that would help.... Any ideas or suggestions? Thesis our first major Reno.

I'm normally not a fan of black with black or white with white because the shades are always slightly (or majorly) off. I'd rather see complimenting colors.
If you like the look of stainless, you can check out silver/black appliances. There are some brands (whirlpool is one I believe) who carry a color called silvermist which is just silver paint and is the same price as black or white. The bonus is fingerprints don't show like they do with SS.
I love slate/black/grey kitchens- but they really only work best in large open concept spaces. You don't want you kitchen to look dark and small.
this is good:

The cabinets and appliances sound perfectly fine together. I would recommend not going too light with both the countertop and the floor-it can cause a reverse Oreo look and tends to be unappealing.
I would recommend going 3-4 shades lighter than the cabinets for the floor and lighter for the top.

I can't figure out how to post multiple links, so I'll post multiple times... Ha

Counter tops we currently like. They have kind of a blue accent in them.... Goes with the backsplash

Floor tile in 12x24. It's more of a medium gray with a hint of brown... Hard to explain. This is out of budget, so I need to find something similar :-(
