Where do you get your info regarding The Other Side?
I am curious about where folks get information that will inform them about the other side of the debate.
What sources can you handle going to without wanting to scratch your eyes out?
My democratic leaning source that I can stand is NPR. However, I do on occasion want to scratch my eyes out during Diane Reem. She either never bothers to ask conservatives to come on her show or they say no thanks. It makes for a very boring show.

Re: Where do you get your info regarding The Other Side?
I disagree with the idea that you need to look in different places to get information from "the other side"- if you're getting your info from the right source(s).
But then again, I'm not conspiracy-riddled-Palin obsessed with the 'lamestream liberal media' who is convinced that Fox is where it's at for an unbiased account. Are all media outlets going to lean one way or another? Sure, for the most part. But if you know how to read them, I don't think it's a huge issue.
Anyway, I like a good variety- CNN, Economist, al Jazeera English sometimes. My local joke* of a newspaper (which is highly right-leaning, I do live in Oklahoma lol). I also enjoy Andrew Sullivan's blog, which is very left-leaning but also very critical of the issues as they come- he doesn't blindly go along with anything the Obama admin says.
*edit: it's not a joke because it's right-leaning, it's a joke because it's a small-town-type newspaper with little real substance, in case that came off wrong.
Alex Jones.
Kidding. I try to read as many different sources as possible to find the truth that lies in the middles. I enjoy Flip Board's pulling from numerous sources into one place. CNN is no longer a credible media source, IMO. They care less about accuracy and more about speed and reporting first, clarifying later.
This is basically exactly what I do. I also lurk on a few political message boards to see how peeps are reacting to daily news.
I agree with PP that I don't go to different sources for "the Other Side." I'd say I get most of my news from NPR, CNN, BBC, and ABC News. I also read some local newspapers - but that's for state and local stuff that this board probably doesn't care about.
I can't stand Fox News or MSNBC. You pretty much have to fact check these stations, and I don't see the point of watching news that consistently provides questionable information. I used to really love Rachel Maddow, but she's gotten a little to sensational for me. I still think that she's an incredibly smart woman, but I just don't have time to weed through news stories to find out what was accurate and what was twisted.
I cannot believe you said that about Diane Rehm! She's the journalist I most admire. She calls everyone on their BS. She's not afraid to get into the nitty gritty details that most other news sources skip altogether. And she tends to keep her opinion to herself, which I really respect in a media saturated with the idea that we want to know what some pundit thinks.
I just come here for that freakin' adorable sloth picture in your siggy. I mean... that is beyond cute.
