Help with paint color ideas for baby boy's room

Curtains are light blue (same light blue that are in the middle of the rug below) and area rug is the one below.  The one color I do not want is green.

We have that rug in DS's room and his walls are a lighter blue, not baby blue though.  Our trim is popped corn white and we have navy curtains.  Red shelves and bookcases.

If you don't want blue walls because of the curtains, how about a light taupe?

I work at Babies R Us and I have a one year old boy. At first I wanted his nursery in blue and sage elephants but there wasnt a set to match it and we didnt get much of anything off of our registry, including decor pieces. We ended up buying a set later at baby resale shop. Even though I wasnt in love with the set the fact that the whole room had a put together theme made me happy. I have a lot of moms come into Babies R Us when there baby is around 6months to buy new bedding sets because they didnt like the one they got. Most moms make the mistake of decorating the room for baby and not for them. Honestly as long as there are things to look out baby will be thrilled. You have to be in love with the room. Because you are the one who has to look at it all the time. I hope your room decorating goes well and good luck with the baby!

I agree with a taupe color, I love BM smokey taupe it may be a bit too dark but you can get it lightened by 50% or whatever you choose.
