Exterior Paint Colors- New Nest

We just bought a home in Saint Petersburg FL and we are having trouble picking an exterior color for our home. Does anyone have suggestions on which sites to visit for color options? We are also getting a new roof and need to pick a color for that too. We were thinking charcoal grey roof with a light grey paint, or brown roof with a tan color paint. There are so many options, we are not sure where to start...

Go to any paint store of your choice (big box or specialty) and grab their brochures where they have the suggested paint color pairings for exteriors.

Personally, I wouldn't do gray in Florida.  I have relatives there and all the homes are done in happy colors.

What colors are the homes in the area? This does matter for resale if you paint your house a bright color when all the homes are neutrals or vice versa, it can look pretty funny. Go for a drive and find the homes that you are attracted to nearby and use thier colors for inspiration.

I would pick a very light color for your roof.  In Florida you want to reflect the sunlight/heat to help keep your house cooler and help with electric bills.  A darker roof will absorb more heat, and make it harder to keep your house cool.
