? about the Duggar's son & his marriage...

What's the reason behind him not be allowed to to show affections or offer affections in the form of a kiss to his future bride?

I'm sooo lost.

Religious beliefs?

Re: ? about the Duggar's son & his marriage...

  • My understanding is that he and his wife made that decision on their own. The parents said that they did not discourage kissing or require chaperones but that the kids decided that it was the best way to avoid temptation.
  • We were all talking about this a few weeks ago - it's because of religious beliefs www.quiverfull.com tells you all about it.

    Weirdos.

It is their choice to follow the religous beleifs taught to them by both set of parents. They did make the decision to do it, but you tend to follow what has been preached to you over and over again.

  • I don't watch the show but happend to catch a couple minutes of it the other day and like a train wreck got sucked in.  From what they were saying it is "courting" and in "courting" you don't show any signs of affection except hand holding.  I guess at that they even talked to their parents about hand holding and if that was ok or did it make them impure.  The parents said they don't require it but encourage it and at least 2 of the daughters had said they intend to do the same.

The father did make a point of saying that the mother had dated other men before him so it wasn't as if they were against it.  I don't know that whole family creeps me out big time!

  • DH cringes when they come on and makes me change the channel. They fascinate me!
  • To avoid going any further, so they just don't do anything.
