How to over come one's mind?

This is sound stupid, but I have a hard time hearing compliments from the people around me. Since April I have lost about 47pounds. Co-workers, friends and family, all want to be supportive by mentioning how great they think I look. I always feel embarrassed or upset by the comments. I still have over 50 pounds left to lose and I guess I just don't see the changes that they do.  I try to be excited about my weight loss milestones but then I look in the mirror and still disappointed that I have gotten to where I am.(It's hard because many people don't understand what I am going through, emotionally)

How does one overcome the harshness of my biggest enemy...me?

Thank you for listening...and any advice you may have!

**Think positive thoughts! *Think positive thoughts! *Think positive thoughts!**

  • When you thank someone for saying something nice, you're showing appreciation for the gift of the compliment by saying thank you....so just say it and shut up about it ;)

As far as not being happy for not reaching your ultimate goal, keep in mind there would be no ultimate goal without the little goals in between.  Those little goals are equally important - so be thankful for them as well.

    Totally agree!

Also, the only way you could overcome this is working on it, you must love yourself! You can reach your weight goal, or whatever, but if you don't change the way you see yourself, nothing would have changed inside you; which it's the most important thing, to feel in peace and happy in your own body :)

look and yourself in the mirror and praise yourself! Spend a few minutes thinking about the positive things about you. Smile at yourself :)
