I went in today for my regular monthly appointment (16w4d) and everything was going well. I had even lost another 5 lbs (now down 15lbs total) and the doctor said it was ok still. Then he went to find the baby on the doppler. He searched and searched and searched and couldn't find it. We changed my position, and tried where I tend to fine s/he and nothing. My PgAL brain went into overdrive.
He decided to use the u/s machine to see a HB. I started freaking out again b/c the baby wasn't moving a lot like s/he was at the NT scan. The next thing I know the doctor said "There is the HB flickering, can you see it" and I did and was so relieved. He told me that my placenta is anterior and large so it's making it difficult to hear a HB. I'm glad everything was ok even though it was scary, and I got an extra peek at my peanut!
He also said he doesn't think I have PUPPS, just an unexplained case of constant hives. I also have a referral for a chiropractor to help with my back and hip pain. My a/s is scheduled for Sept. 26!
