We've been in our house for over five years and the bathroom is hideous! I've had enough and I desperately want to re-do. We can't afford to just tear everything out and start over (plus it's our only full bath), so I want to paint the walls and vanity, put new tile around the counter, put in a new counter and fixtures.
Could I do that for under 500? under 1000?
I have a painted vanity...has anyone ever tried this technique on a painted vanity before? how did it turn out?

Re: Bathroom re-do
I would say that depending upon the type of tile, counter top, and fixtures you use you should definitely be able to do it for less than $1000, $500 would be reasonable if you use all low end fixtures and if you already have a lot of the tools you'll need to do the tile.
I have not personally used the cabinet refinishing paint yet - though we intend to use it when we rehab our kitchen this winter. The after picture looks amazing though.
