AW: Fireplace surround & mantle (PIP)

Ugh. I can't get PIPs to work. At least there are working links. I hope.

Old regular, coming back with an exciting update!

I am embarrassed to admit that our fireplace looked like this for over 4 years after we moved into our new-construction home:

I had a vision, but it took a while to realize it. I actually discovered this tile almost 3 years ago when a nestie posted about putting it in her kitchen (http://andiathome.wordpress.com/2009/10/06/kitchen-before-and-after/). I was 8m pregnant with my 2nd baby at the time, so it seemed like a bad time to spend money or start any kind of project. But this summer, I finally bought the tile, and my dad put it up this week during a visit!

Mantle is an ikea lack shelf in black/brown.
