Advice for decorating a room with red/burgandy carpet?
My wife and I just moved in to a condo we're renting that has reddish/burgandy carpets. Since we're renting and also don't have the budget to recarpet the place, we're trying to make do with what we have. Does anyone have any recommendations for how to decorate a room, particularly a living room, with red carpet? Any matching color recommendations, style choices? Thanks so much!
The carpet is about the same as the stairs in this photo: http://byebyebrooklyn.files.wordpress.com/2011/04/imag0267.jpg
Re: Advice for decorating a room with red/burgandy carpet?
For the living room, consider laying an area rug on top. I don't know where you are in the country, but seagrass is super popular (and appropriate for the climate) in the south. I've been pleased with my order from naturalarearugs.com. I'd pick up small doses of burgundy in throw pillows, etc, and keep everything else pretty neutral.
For the bedrooms, this blogger suggests just ignoring it.
