Just wwondering if there is anyone who has any experience or advice on selling Avon. I just placed my first order today and did ok. Honestly only had 2 customers and then myself. Im hoping to do well and bring in at least a little extra income to the house. Any and all advice would be appreciated.

Not Avon, but I just became a consultant for Scentsy.  You can do online parties, post on facebook, etc so everyone knows.  I like it so far, with more orders were coming in though!     good luck.

Do you have it set up where people can order online? I have a friend that is selling jamberry (nail shields) and she just did a really neat thing.  She hosted a "mystery party" online via facebook.  She created an event for the party on facebook and said that anyone who placed an order would be entered into a drawing to become the "host" of the party.  The host would then win a certain amount of free merchandise (depending on how much was sold total. I think it was like 10 percent of total orders or something).  This helped expand her client base.  I think something like that might be worth trying.  Also if you have any colleges or anything near you you may be able to set up on their campus or at least supply catalogues.

I know she had a lot of success with it, and I think Avon would likely be even more successful because its more well known and the items are (mostly) less expensive.  I think the online site is nice because it allows you to reach people that you might not reach with just a catalogue.  Good luck!

Yes Avon really is pretty well known. A nice feature to the site is that customers can "find a representative" and I have the chance of getting extra business from people I don't know who may just like the profile I have set up. I know I have a lot of options. Thanks Im gonna need some luck to really make a profit. Heck even if you know anyone that would want it let me know and I can send out the information.

I'm a new rep, too! I sold Avon a few years back. The good thing is that people will come to you so long as they know you are selling. Carry business cards and always have an extra few books on hand. Sell to the ladies in the office and always give samples with your orders. If you are in any civic clubs, make sure you let those people know you sell. Donate a product or two for drawings and people will love it and want to order from you. Good luck!!

When u start you must really get your word out there about you being your own person doing it but the best thing to do is start asking the businesses. The employees of the businesses for the right to put your catalogs there. If you could do that and than try to do flyers put a sign on your vehicle saying that you are a Selling Avon.

It's hard to get customers at 1st start asking your customers to help you with getting the word out there. You can give them a little present for doing that.
