Re: Ash61612

  • Oh yes Ash, please let us know.
  • Thanks do much for asking. I went on Monday. I was taking too much of one medicine and too little of another. He thinks once I get the medicine regulated, things will calm down (hopefully) with the headaches. I have not felt the best this week, trying to get used to the new doses of medicine and trying to pay attentions to "triggers". I go back in 4 weeks and hopefully things will have calmed down by then. Thanks again for asking about the doctors visit.

  • Glad to hear that they at least know what could be causing your headaches and can easily fix the problem.  Hang in there while things get re-regulated and hopefully that will be all it takes!

  • What medications do they have you on?

What medications do they have you on?

Topomax to prevent them Ibuprofen for regular headaches and Imitrex when I get a full blown migraine. He also wants me to take 400 mg of Magnesium daily. I was taking Fiorocet for the pain but it wasn't helping and he said research is showing you shouldn't take more then 5-6 a month and I was taking a couple a week.

  • I have Topomax as well. I take Indomethicin when it gets really bad. I'm positive I'm spelling in wrong - but you might want to ask about that?

  • Ash,

My husband has been having very similar symptoms to this here recently.  His headaches started on August 27th and were steady through September 8th.  This last week its been every other day or so.  He was given Fioricet too.  I hadn't heard about only taking 6/month.. he has definitely had more than that!!!!  His blood pressure also spiked at the onset of the headaches and has been high ever since they started, so now he's also on Atenolol.  At his last appointment for them yesterday, they also gave him Imotrex.
