Restaurant suggestions needed!
DH and I are coming to Chicago next weekend and need some suggestions for a nice dinner. We consider ourselves foodies - so we're open to almost any kind of interesting cuisine. Our only real food limitation is we want to avoid steakhouses. Price isn't a consideration - we just want a good meal and good service. Also, we'd like it somewhere reasonably close to Second City - as we're seeing an 11pm performance after dinner and we don't want to be all over town.
Also, if anyone has a suggestion for maybe a lower key meal for the other night we're in Chicago. Preferrably, some place reasonably close to our hotel - we're staying at the Sofitel (Watertower).
Thanks for your help.

Re: Restaurant suggestions needed!
if i were you, i'd go to kamehachi in old town before second city (this would be your "laid back" meal - delish sushi/japanese food in a cool atmosphere if you eat upstairs - it was a big hangout for second city/SNL alums back in the day).
for your second night, you have your choice of lots of restaurants within close walking distance - especially those in the rush street area (tavern on rush and hugo's frog bar are two of my favorites for a more upscale experience). maybe check with your hotel concierge once you know what you're in the mood for, because there are way too many to list here!
I highly recommend MK. It is one of my favorite places in the city. It's pretty close to Second City, too. I'd say a little over a mile or so, maybe?
One of my newer favorites (though I've only been twice) is Landmark. Great fresh, local, seasonal food and a very simple menu.
Brasserie Jo is a great French restaurant that is quite reasonable. I also like Nacional 27, which is a LEY restaurant. And, I'm a fan of Bin 36.
I would avoid Signature Room, unless you are just going for drinks.
Because we're fancy like that.
