Kansas wanting Obama off the Ballot

Sorry, don't know how to make it clicky.  I heard this tonight on the news and thought it was for my state, MO, but later found out it's for Kansas which is the state next to me.  Discuss.

Re: Kansas wanting Obama off the Ballot

  • a) that's the stupidest f*cking thing I've ever seen. Good god. Though I'm surprised that this isn't being pulled by Ohio, which has had its fair share of election-related stupidity the past few weeks.

    b) WTF difference would it make? As though Kansas' 6 votes aren't going to Romney either way? Why bother?

If the board is dumb enough to uphold it, there will just be a round of court rulings to make them get their racist heads out of their a$$es. Just like in Ohio with their early voting malarkey.

What does this have to do w/ racism??

  • I know right!  I couldn't believe it.  Kansas is a very republican state.

"The State Objections Board heard arguments Thursday on a claim from a Manhattan, Kan., resident that Obama is not eligible to be president because his father was from Kenya."

A complete and utter ignorance of US citizenship laws based on the fact that the sitting president who was deemed to have met the, you know, two requirements of age and citizenship to be president 4 years ago, is half-African? Yeah, I find that a little racist. Or maybe just xenophobic, because that's a much nicer way of putting it. *eye roll*

  • They say the President can NOT be eligibe because his father was born in Kenya. However, Mr. Romney's Grandfather and Father were born in Mexico.

I need to read me some of this cra-cra.

  • TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) - Kansas officials want more information before deciding whether to remove President Barack Obama from the state's November ballot.

The State Objections Board heard arguments Thursday on a claim from a Manhattan, Kan., resident that Obama is not eligible to be president because his father was from Kenya. The resident, Joe Montgomery, also questions whether Obama has a valid birth certificate.

The president released a copy of his long-form birth certificate last year, and Hawaii officials have verified his citizenship repeatedly.

But the Kansas board -- made up of the secretary of state, attorney general and lieutenant governor -- said Thursday it wants certified documents from Hawaii and two other states where similar questions about Obama's citizenship have been raised.

The board plans to meet again Monday and may rule then.

  • Thanks, wow, just wow.
  • Wow.

It never ceases to amaze me that these birther people and their ludicrous ideas are given a second thought.

  • I thought we were over all of this birther nonsense.

I legitimately can not think of a stupider thing to argue about considering all of the problems our country is facing right now.

  • ::Shakes head:: Its a little late, all documentation that was needed was already provided before he took office for his current term. I seriously doubt that they will uncover any information that the previous teams vetting the presidential candidates last time didn't find. McCains team, with the exception of that dumbasstwit vp, was far more thorough and competent than Romney's, and definitely more so than the fuckwit bringing this up again.

If Huntsman were on the ballot, I would genuinely be scared for Obama. Although I also wouldn't be as devastated if Obama didn't win.
