Do you think Obama is going to win re-election?
Re: Question to Democrats
Gah I hope not. I will move to another country if he does. Kidding...kind of...
Eta: whoops I thought you were talking about Romney. My eyes are tired. Carry on lol
Without a dobut. Romney's worse than Bush if that's possible.
I agree...I feel like he's changed his views completely since he was governor of MA in order to appeal to more hardcore conservatives and tea-partiers. He's become a puppet of the GOP.
my read shelf:
I am definitely voting for Obama....I have always been willing to listen to the other side, but I never can relate to that line of thinking (GOP). And Romney is the worst - someone like him needs to stay far far away from the oval office. I'll just leave it at that, rather than elaborate...
Too funny!! I can say the same for Obama. He s#cks!! Plain and simple! Imo it's anyone's win.
I'm not to thrilled with who both sides have for nominees, but you just have to think "which one would do the least damage?"
I agree!
Which is unfortunate. I'm tired of voting for the "lesser of two evils" (although I do like Obama - I'm thinking back to 2004, I didn't like Kerry or Bush). I wish they'd do away with the party lines.
I'm not a Democrat, but I'm answering this anyway.
There's no way you can KNOW anything, not when the RCP average of 4 or 5 key swing states is under 2.
I think that the probability is that Obama will win re-election. He has many more avenues to get to the 270 votes. Romney will get a few states that Obama won in 2008. For example, I predict that he will get North Carolina and at least one or two of the other swing states, most likely Florida and Virginia. The bad judge ruling on collective bargaining could propel Wisconsin into the Romney column. I don't believe Nate Silver's prediction that Obama will get all the swing states. It just doesn't make sense in this economic climate.
The trouble spot for Romney is Ohio. He's never led and has a pretty big hole to get out of. The race is not closing as I thought it might right from the beginning. The good financial decisions that Kasich and other Republican governors made beginning in 2010 may be what ultimately costs Romney. Those states are looking better financially and may feel like divided government is ok.
If Romney doesn't win Ohio, it is very unlikely that he will win. It's just too hard to make up the 18 electorals. He'd have to get New Hampshire, Colorado, and Iowa, and I don't think he could get all three. It stands to reason that if he can't get Ohio, a state that sometimes displays Republican-leaning fundamentals, he won't win the others. edit----I don't even think the electorals of those 3 states would be enough. I need to double-check. I think NH is 4, Iowa's 5, and Colorado's 9, but I'm not sure.
On the other hand, the Senate is looking very promising, and I am predicting at least 50-50 for the Republicans. Even if they lose Maine and Massachusetts, they could pick up North Dakota, Nebraska, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Montana. I feel like at least one of the others could go R as well.
based on what?
Forgive me. I am picking a fight with Bumpies. That's kinda like drugged-out Ashley from Big Brother talking geopolitics with George Will.
Well duh, everybody knows having kids gives moms a case of the stupids.
You know you are always welcome over on the dark side of Parenting.
I extend the invitation as well, I think you would fit in nicely over there.
Bahahahahaah
lol @ the paranoid overreactor insulting someone's intelligence.
Enjoy your delusions, dear.
I still chuckle periodically over the 'who are you to question ME?' angry tirade.
Cats,
I'm just curious, why exactly does Obama "suck"? On what policy issues? I'm just asking because when compared to the GOP generally and Romney specifically, it sure seems like both his economic and social policies are overwhelmingly better for Americans in general and women, minorities, the middle class, students, and seniors specifically. So, please, do explain.
I just blinked. A lot.
I think she is agreeing with you since Cat gets that "but I know the TRUTH" thing going.
