New to Waterville area, baby/momgroups?

My husband and I are new-ish to Winslow and have a 4 month old daughter. Does anyone know of any baby or mom groups anywhere in the general area? Even around Augusta? I'd love to get out with LO and find some activities for her and of course maybe meet some local Moms. I'm just really at a loss with where to start looking

 TIA :)

  • Welcome! I live in Augusta and work full time during the day so I'm not sure what out there.  Check the libraries (Waterville, Winslow, Fairfield, etc) to see what they have.  I know there is a bounce play area that is open during the winter (similar to the Maine Jump, which is in Bangor)..it's in the Boys and Girls club I think. Also google Macaroni Kid for the Gardiner area.  They send emails once a week with a calendar.  Hopefully that helps some :)

Keep posting...would love to hear more from you!

  • Sorry I don't have any advice, I'm in the Augusta area and looking for the same. I just wanted to say WELCOME!

  • I live in Waterville. I have a 2 month old son and a 4 year old daughter. I'd like to find some stuff to do as well. I am so bored lol!!!
  • Thanks for everyone responding. I'm going to check with the libraries. I've been meaning to get to the Winslow library to get some books on sleep (which seems to be the all consuming topic of my life lately) and was going to see if they had that kind of thing.

Oh and thanks for the Macaroni kid suggestion, there's a lot around here I never would have known about!

  • I just finished "The No-Cry Sleep Solution" and found it to have some really helpful advice! I found the problem to be more me than LO when it came to frequent wakings.

  • I've been going back and forth between getting that book and healthy sleep habits happy child or whatever it's called. I totally agree I'm the biggest part of the problem. It's so hard not to take the easy way out when you're so desperate for sleep!
