Hi everyone...
It's been awhile since I've posted here...I was fairly active years ago on the Knot and then lurked for awhile on this board after the wedding. I always remember everyone being so friendly and nice ![]()
I'm searching for a new OBGYN and was hoping you ladies could provide referrals of doctors you've had good experiences with... I live east of Pittsburgh and would really appreciate any recommendations for doctors in the Monroeville/Irwin/Greensburg area.
Second, does anyone have a recommendation for an infertility specialist or RE? I'm more open on location and willing to travel into Pittsburgh or surrounding areas.
Thanks in advance for any help or recommendations you can give!
Re: OBGYN recs - eastern suburbs
I currently go to East Suburban OB/GYN at Forbes. Dr. Pettica deliverd my DD. I also really like Dr. Nguyen. New job and new insurance, so I will be switching to a practice SIL goes to in the coming weeks. She had great experience with and they delivered my niece. It is Westmoreland Women's Health Centers in either greenburg or over by the new walmart in North Huntingdon. She liked all the docs in the practice.
Hope that helps.

I also use East Suburban at Forbes and I really like it there, and I loved delivering my kids at Forbes. It was a really nice environment with tons of personal attention.
I really like Dr. Duggan and Dr. Nguyen.
OB/GYN Associates of Pittsburgh; I love, love, love Dr. Shaheen. I also really like Dr. Thomas and Dr. Kremser (Shaheen is female, Thomas & Kremser are male, not sure if that matters to you) They're in the buildings behind miracle mile.

Agreed! I love this practice. Dr. Shaheen delivered DD and I absolutely adore her. I also like Dr. Hazel in the practice.
Also, so you know, they deliver at Magee.
I delivered my first at Jeanette with Dr. Dzialowski, but he no longer does OB.
I then went to OBGYN Assoc. of PGH. I primarily saw Dr. Carson (people generally don't love him, but it was just for annuals at that point). When I got PG for the 2nd time I switched to Shaheen and loved her, but then we changed insurance and I could no longer deliver at Magee, so I started going to East Suburban. I wasn't thrilled about it at first, but I ended up having a great experience. I saw all of the dr's, but my favorite ended up being Dr. Selednick. Dr. Duggan was on call when I went into labor though, and he was great too. The nurses at Forbes were outstanding and the rooms are amazing. So much nicer than what my sister had at Magee. I was high risk, and I felt like they did a really good job managing my care even at a regional hospital. They have several locations as well. Monroeville tends to have the longest waits, but it's also the easiest to get appts there.
I had a limited experience w/ RHS in Penn Hills and didn't care for them. I was intending to switch to the Magee practice, but then got pregnant on a half cycle of Clomid with Carson and ended up not needing to pursue the RE route.
Best of luck!
i don't have an ob rec, or really a local RE rec, but i did want to mention that i ditto pp. i had a consult with RHS and was very, very disappointed. i switched to dr sanfalippo, ended up pregnant so obviously he wouldn't see me for my appt, then lost that baby and rescheduled with him. but i ended up relocating to WV much sooner than anticipated and was no longer in the area by the time that appt came around. i ended up with an RE in morgantown that i loved, but that obviously isn't helpful here.
My mom just told me last night that our previous OB/GYN, Krista Perez, is now in Greensburg. When I just looked her up, it says she is at this location. We really liked her many years ago (switched health plans so had to switch offices). I'm not 100% sure if she is at this office, but I would definitely recommend her.
