So a few of the neighbors at our new property have extended their yards into our property--which had been vacant for some time. One of the neighbors has a firepit area and a shed and another actually fenced in part of our property. The pins are clearly marked and are in their "yards" so they mow around them.
How would you handle it? I don't want to make enemies, but we bought the property and we're paying taxes on it and they need to move their stuff.
If you were these neighbors, how would you want us to tell us to move your stuff off our property.
Re: Neighbor opinion
My thoughts, after we just were chatting, weather, neighborhood, etc:
"Hey, I know we had the property surveyed when we purchased it and I don't know if you were aware but X comes over on our property. I would hate for someone to get hurt and I know we want to be able to try to envision what we could do with this space so sometime in the next few weeks, we'd appreciate it if you could move X. We can help you find the survey pins so you could move it to your yard."
I agree with Kristin. I would try the nice approach and see how that goes first. If that doesn't work, then reevaluate.
