I already have a vet appointment set up for later this afternoon, and will be getting a stool sample to bring, but I just wanted to see if anyone else had the same problem with their puppy or dog. One of my other dogs has had it before, but it only happened one time and resolved on its own.
I noticed last night that my puppy had pooped right outside her room (we keep all the dogs in a small room during the day while we are gone). She hasn't pooped in the house since she was about 3 months old, and she is 5 months now. And even then, she would poop by the door to go outside. I noticed it was soft, with a clear mucus coating at the end. It was still hard enough to pick up (not liquidy), but definitely softer than normal. This morning she kept whining, so I opened the door to let her out of her room and she immediately pooped in the hallway. It was even softer today. The after eating, she went poop again outside, and I mean ran out and went. She is definitely showing urgency, but other than that she is a happy puppy.
Has anyone else experienced this with their dog, and what did it turn out to be? I will update with the results after I take her to the vet, just want something to go off of, as I never like to go into vet with absolutely no clue on possible causes.
