This was probably the best party I've ever thrown! I'm never throwing a dinner party again unless I have to. Brunch is the way to go all the way! I made everything the night before and just had to heat things up and put them out this morning. Unfortunately, I overslept, so I still didn't get a chance to take artistic photos - I don't think a party of mine will ever be nicely photographed!
What worked
Everything
What didn't
Nothing!
Recipes
Ham with biscuits and mustard
Sausage-egg bake (I can type this out if anyone wants - it's really good)
Fruit tray with yogurt dip
Champagne punch with decorative ice ring
It was almost the perfect amount of food. 15 people finished just about everything except the fruit tray. And I bought too much ham, but that's my fault. Can I freeze good quality boneless ham? I don't know what to do with it.
Re: You can call me the brunch lady ;)
I'm glad it all worked! Everything looks lovely and I love the recipe for pumpkin bread. That centerpiece is beautiful. I'm sure the bride and groom LOVED it.
You can absolutely freeze the ham. I always have ham in my freezer- toss it in mac and cheese with some peas for a full dinner; mix in eggs (I also make mini quiches first then freeze); top salads. I actually did the mac and cheese this week and DH and I had it on salads today.
Fabulous. Simply fabulous.
