Builders?
We are considering building a house. Any recommendations on builders (or ones to avoid)?

I work with a custom builder if you want to know just PM me.
I always say stay away from the big ones, and do your research a lot of the "custom" builders really were crappy builders who when the market went down declared bankruptcy and started a new company in a new name. Avalon homes is one for example. Really know what the builder is about and find out if you can if they operated under a different company a couple years ago.

Highly recommend Zehnder Homes. We just had them tear down and build a garage, but have seen some of their other work on full homes and it is lovely.
Like PP recommended, it is a small company and locally owned. We worked with Eric Zehnder directly and you probably would too. He is younger and he owns the business. He will worked hard to make sure we were happy. We checked his references and they were all positive.
