Small bedroom

I've taken a small bedroom and made it into a bedroom and a place for my computer and working area(paperwork etc.)

Is there a way I can divide them up without looking too choppy?  The room is 11x11 with a small indention for the computer.  The house was this way when I bought it.  I have a small desk on a wall across from the bed.  The computer is at the foot of the bed(with about  5' apart.

There is a door into a small bath beside the head of the bed(wall)..then more wall.

Thank you for your help.

Re: Small bedroom

  • Your bedroom is already small and if you divide it; it will become too small because it is only 11x11, even you will not be able to move freely.
  • I wouldn;t divide it, but I would set it up in such a way that it can be dual purpose...my office/craft room is also the guest room, and we pulled it off by having large bookshelfs (expedit from ikea) with a desk attached, for the office (and the closet has office stuff in it, and the rest of the room is the guest bed..the desk doubles as a night table when I clean it off if someone is coming over.
  • Your room isn't that big as it is so dividing wouldn't be such a good idea but yet you can still do things to make the room look spacious. First I would take out any furniture that's not necessary. Then, people don't know about is that big wall mirrors makes the room way bigger then they really are.
  • Agreed with everyone above, dividing too much will only hurt the room. Adding in shelving or drawer units by the desk is probably your best bet to turn it into a working environment.
