So the husband and I have decided we are feeling ready for kids soon. We are thinking/hoping for late next year/early 2014. Timing is a little important for us since because I own my own business, I really don't get maternity leave, and if we were to have a baby during part of the year, I would miss out on a big chunk of the season, which would potentially damage my bookings for the following year. My down time is between October-Aprilish, so we are hoping to get lucky for that period of time.
For those of you who had a somewhat planned pregnancy, how long after stopping birth control and/or making the decision to go ahead and try did it take you to get pregnant?
I know obviously everyone is different, but I'm curious to hear others' stories!
Re: Baby talk...
How exciting! Good luck to you when you start!
We started trying in September and got pregnant in June. I think that my body was all off after coming off of the BC. Temping and using OPKs both helped me.

I come from a very fertile family, so I did not go off BC until we were absolutely sure we were ready if it happened on the first try - and it did! Went off BC Jan 2011, temped for the cycle, got BFP early Feb 2011, DD was born Oct 2011....
Now we were trying for a second, I went off BC in June and we tried for 4 cycles but I was/am under a lot of stress with my thesis and my cycles are too short to sustain a pregnancy so we are taking some time off trying until my thesis is done and we are past having due dates in Oct/Nov/Dec/Jan (b/c of lots of family birthdays) and will be trying again in the spring. I know God has a plan for giving me kids so far apart when I wanted them close together, but I just don't know what He has up His sleeve yet.
