outdoor wedding help

Forgive formatting or lack of - on my phone

My best friend is getting married next month and it is an outside wedding in her parents backyard of their new home.  i do not know what to wear!  i am still nursing my baby so a dress is really hard and not ideal.  i have a dark blue pencil skirt - it looks like the denim used for trouser pants - and was thinking of wearing it with a nice cardi and and blouse with either nude heels or my cognac heels - both closed toe.  The wedding is at 430 and reception follows with dinner and cocktails per the invitation.  I will do a polyvore set later but the skirt is jcrew, the cardigan is the mixed tape from jcrew in cabernet and was thinking of a white shirt under the cardi and the fossil wide belt at my waist with my cognac closed toe pumps.  i asked my friend and she said wear whatever am comfortable in - so that help at all  her dress a traditional wedding dress and is short think - if that matters any.

Re: outdoor wedding help

  • What you described sounds nice. As long as it's not sweats and a stained baggy t-shirt it sounds like your friends pretty casual. Now, are you a bridesmaid or just a guest? Because that changes things.

  • No I am just a guest  this is a second wedding for her so it is very small and she having bridesmaids at all

  • I was planning on wearing a black and white dress from whbm but think it might be too dressy, plus hard to nurse with a dress and ds will not take a bottle from me!  turkey!  I might post a polyvore pic later just for review!

  • On second thought maybe I should look for a silk 3/4 sleeve blouse that would work?  the pencil skirt is dark, like navy blue.  anyone want to help with that?  maybe it needs a new post!
