Kind of interesting...

Dorothy recommended this buffet style restaurant and I was looking through the prices and how interesting is it that they gave a children's discount, a senior discount and a gastric bypass surgery discount?? I have never seen that before but its pretty cool when you think about it!

Re: Kind of interesting...

  • I find that hilarious!  I mean it makes sense but I never would have imagined someone would think of giving that discount.  I wonder how you prove you really had the surgery?
    my read shelf:
B's book recommendations, liked quotes, book clubs, book trivia, book lists (read shelf)
  • I saw that on the website last year when i was showing it to DH. My boss took us to "Sight & Sound" theater then dinner at Shady Maple for Christmas last year.  You have to show a doctors note to prove you had the surgery.

  • I actually find that kind of pathetic. Is our society actually at that point?
  • You can also eat for free if it is your birthday, but you have to show them ID and it has to be the exact day.

    Agreed.

  • Just to clarify, it's a smorgasbord.  Not a buffet.

That would be the Pennsylvania Dutch in me talking.

Thank you!  I call it a smorgasbord too... only I had no idea how to spell it.

Whats the difference? Seriously, when Dorothy said it to me, it took me like 10 minutes just to pronounce it correctly.

  • That's just the word that the Pennsylvania Dutch use instead of buffet.  When I hear it, I think about a certain kind of food.  And it usually involves a lot of starch.
