Baby Dos is Here!
So I'm a little late with this, but I guess better late than never, right?
Declan James was born on September 18 at 12:12am, via RCS. I actually started contracting at work on Monday night but wasn't sure if it was the real thing, as it was nothing consistent or really time-able...well, I waited out my shift and by the time I got home, showered, and decided to call the Dr. and get into the hospital, I thought I was going to die. Oops. Because I was scheduled for a c-section (albeit not until 9/24, but apparently the kid just couldn't wait), they told me I had to wait for an OR to open, and couldn't get pain meds until then- so I labored for another hour and a half or so without any pain meds- horrible, horrible, horrible. I don't know how moms do this without any medication! Finally, we got into the OR, where Declan was born after what seemed like the longest surgery ever, including the Dr. having to climb up on my chest to push him down and out and the anesthesiologist being blown away at how much pain medication it actually takes to affect me.
One day I will get my nice, scheduled c-section and I'll make it to the date I'm given and stroll into the hospital, get pain meds, and give birth 
Anyway, Declan is fabulous. He weighed in at 7lb., 14 oz. and 20.75" long, and was already up to 7lb., 15.5 oz. at his one week checkup last Tuesday. He is nursing like a champ and sleeps for decent stretches. His big sister, on the other hand...well, she's a handful. She loves him, but is really struggling, and I'm exhausted trying to figure out a balance between the two kids. She's doing things like refusing to use the potty or speak properly or feed herself, depending on her mood. I'm definitely nervous about what happens when DH returns to work this coming Monday!
I have tried to PIP a few times now and it's not showing up...so sorry...but those of you who are FB friends with me can see him in his own little album on my page!

Thanks, Val. Ais was working on potty training, and was using her potty several times a day- but now refuses for the most part. She used it once last night for me successfully, and was willing to sit on it with no luck this morning, but that's about it...otherwise she's reverted back to full diapers, and on top of it is quite proud of herself for making a mess in her diaper and even screams when I try to change her diaper. Ugh. Hopefully this doesn't last long!

Heather- we had him there last week, and I am hoping to bring him this week too...hope to see you! He of course slept through the whole thing but I sat in the stands with him while Chiara (Aaro's mom) sat with her new son, August, who was born on Sept. 8.
I'll be there tomorrow! Last week we had a funeral. Dan's aunt's dad died. I can't wait to meet him.
