wearing puffy vests - do you?

JCrew has one for over $100!  I had one a few years ago and thought about getting another one but not for that much $$!  I was going to look at Old Navy or Gap instead.  How do you wear them or style them if you do?  I liked it with a solid color long sleeve tee and either boot cut jeans or now maybe with skinnies and flat boots.  thoughts?  if you have one PIP or link to it if you like it!

Re: wearing puffy vests - do you?

  • I have one from JCrew and wear it exactly the same way you described. Love it... especially for getting in and out of the car as it's not too warm. I hate wearing bulky jackets in the car. Plus it is great for those not so cold days.
  • Living in MN the North Face puffy vests are pretty much a main staple in everyone's closet - I have 3.  I style mine as you described.

  • No. I'd look like the Michelin man.

  • I do and I only wear it for cider mill time, so like right now.

  • Lands End has one that I like, but I have to size down. I usually pair it with a long sleeve tee shirt.

  • I don't have a puffy vest but I do have a faux leather vest from Target. They currently have some puffy vests over in the outerwear section.

I'm not sure I could pull off a puffy vest! But when I wear my faux leather one I wear it with either a long sleeve shirt or a button down shirt (I have a western style with flowers that looks great with the vest!) as well as skinny jeans and either long fall boots (about mid calf height) or my engineer boots from blowfish. • I have a down vest from Context (not sure what store, it was a Christmas gift from a few years ago). Its reversible - teal on one side, white on the other, and I love it. I wear it all fall and all spring - its just warm enough to throw on over a cardigan and be fine, but I don't get overheated.
  • I have a black puffer vest that I got while I was in high school from The Gap. I still wear it! It's a winter staple for me. I also have a grey vest, also from Gab, but I got it in 2010. I usually wear them with a printed shirt underneath, or a fun scarf.
