Re: leaving hubby alone for the week

  • If my husband was home alone for a week, all he'd eat would be cereal!

Lasagna is all I can think of right now.

  • well what does he like/not like? and since you're worried that he wont eat anything but pizza while you're gone are you sure if you make food he'll eat it anyway? a week isn't a long time.......
Friday, December 28 2012. The day I had emergency appendix surgery in Mexico and quit smoking. Proof that everything has a good side!! DH and I are happily child-free!! No due date or toddler tickers here!! my read shelf:

  • One of my favorites to freeze is Chicken Tetrazini, you could do any cassarole really. Meatloaf if he likes that, you can freeze any meat in marinade with some vegis and cook it in the oven all together. Shepards pie or chicken pot pie are some others. You could get those cheap aluminum foil pans from the grocery store and make small versions of everything.
  • He will eat anything! Honestly he is like a human garbage disposal. If there is something to throw in the microwave he will , otherwise pizza or Chinese take out it is.

liking the idea of lasagne & shepherds pie.

Ive always found meatloaf to get really dry when i freeze it! any tips? not that it will matter to him..lol

  • I always make a batch of this when I am gone for a week or so. I will put it in a container in the refrigerator and buy a pre-made pizza dough, and some buns.

     Dr. Pepper Pulled Pork

I also will make a batch of ground beef and then buy chips and cheese for him to make nachos.

And, I always make cookies or something like that. I know these are not necessarily healthy options, but hey, he eats them and it is not take-out.

  • Does your husband grill?  Just leave some extra meats in the freezer.  DH has no problems grilling everyday.
