Birth Control!
I went to pick up my prescription on Friday for my BC meds...and the pharmacy told me that it's on back-order...fine, this has happened before and they've given me a generic kind...well that was also on backorder with no sign of it being available in the near future. My only option was to call my doc monday to get a new prescription.
I thought a LOT about it this weekend and I honestly feel like CRAP while on BC. I'm never in the mood, my boobs are always sore, and sometimes I forget to take it.
So I talked to H last night and I told him that I was thinking about just getting off of it so I can get control of my body back and that way when we are TTC, I won't have to wait until my body re-adjusts after getting off BC. He gave me this huge silly smiley face like he was almost excited about it...so that made my decision final.
I've downloaded a new app on my phone to track my period since I know I won't be as scheduled as I was before. But I am really excited about not having to take this annoying med every day!

I recently went off the pill and got an IUD. (not quite ready to toss BC all together lol) I LOVE not having to remember my pill everyday, and I feel 10X better physically. Also, my 'mood' has returned, at least a little. It was the best decision I ever made.
I keep joking with h that the pill works by makin you feel like crap and killing your sex drive... Haha
It's true! I honestly felt bad for H because I'm rairly in the mood, then when I have my period (and not taking the pill) I'm realllyyy in the mood but can't do much about it!
I'm scared of the IUDs (mostly from people telling me about the pain from it being "installed") that freaks me out so I don't think that its for me!

You are MUCH braver than I! While I hope to become a mom one day, having a baby before we're ready is one of my biggest fears. We always use two forms of birth control.
I was so scared to get pregnant before the wedding. It was my biggest fear of all because I didn't want to "ruin" any of our wedding plans (the dress, the honeymoon etc.) and I didn't want people to talk about me being a pregnant bride!
But now that we're married I'm feeling more like "if it happens it happens" and yes, there are lots of things we'd like to do (1 yr anniversary trip somewhere, buy a house, etc.) so we're not actively TTC but we won't be using any BC (maybe TMI- but just pulling out) for the time being.....

awesome! i hated hormonal bc, i constantly felt like crap. i tried 3 different types of pills and the ring.
i use fertility friend and period tracker apps. they both estimate my period start dates on the same day every month and they're usually only a day off when estimating the day i ovulate. of course, you can't always trust the app 100% but i love it!

I've been thinking of getting an IUD, too. I feel like on the pill I have no sex drive and after 10 years I just feel like I'm tired of taking it. But not ready yet for no B/C. Every pelvic exam for me hurts, so for some reason I don't see IUD insertion as a big deal...not sure if that reasons out well, haha. I'm due to go in December so we'll see what she says!
I work with a girl who apparently used this method with her now-husband for like 4 years. They just got married in June, and are pregnant already - she said he only failed to...retract in time... ONCE, and apparently that was all it took, haha. Apparently it was the "first" time it had happened for them. I'm just amazed she went so long without getting pregnant!
That was our backup BC before...now its our only one! lol
I think H has mastered this method and I'm not sure if/when we do TTC he'll remember to NOT "retract"!

I hate, hate, hate BC. With other men, I always used condoms, but I went on it with DH after we'd been dating a few months. But, a few months after that, I went off of it. I've tried several kinds of BC throughout my life, and it left me an emotional wreck, low sex-drive, and constant anxiety if I didn't take it at the exact same time every time. I would have been fine using "pull and pray" with DH when he was my BF, but he wasn't comfortable. So, the poor guy had to use condoms at age 40! He was a good sport about it though!
And, I used the pull out method for 2 years with an exboyfriend and it worked fine! I'm obviously fertile, because I got pregnant the very first time actually trying!
