Re: How was your weekend?

  • Highs? Seeing Goyte last night, AMAZING!!
Lows? Terrible sleep last night. DH was out of town, I think that's why.
    Read anything good? Nope.
Watch anything good? No, but I have about 5 Sunday shows I missed that I have to watch through the week!
Eat/make anything good? Holy Frijoles veg fajitas and way too many desserts.
FFCs, vents, AWs, etc? Last night's sleep was terrible and I have a bad headache. I'm trying not to be grouchy this morning, but it's hard. My appointment with the RE is on the 10th, but I'm ready to go NOW to see what's going on with me!
What are you looking forward to this week? An all day work meeting at the Four Seasons and an annual work picnic are both this week.

    • Highs? I was involved in four benefit performances for the Children's Theatre and AACC. Our Saturday night show was fantastic, and I believe we made money for both causes.
    • Lows? For some reason, they decided to have four shows, which was silly -- the theatre was basically empty for the Saturday matinee. Plus, my throat hurts this morning.
    • Read anything good? I read the second and third books in the Last Survivor's series -- "The Dead and Gone" and "This World we Live in." (I'm a faster reader, and I had a lot of time waiting backstage). They weren't as good as the first book, "Life as we Knew It," but I would still recommend the series.
    • Watch anything good? I've been trying to catch up on the season premieres I missed this week, but so far, I haven't been thrilled with anything. I'm looking forward to watching the premiere of 666 Park Avenue that I missed last night.
    • Eat/make anything good? I haven't cooked in more than a week, other than making a BLT pasta salad to take to the cast party. I'm ready to get back in the kitchen again!
    • FFCs, vents, AWs, etc? October is a crazy-busy (and crazy expensive) month for us -- we are going out of town at least one night for the next three weekends. I'm tired just thinking about it.
    • What are you looking forward to this week? Just going home after work each day, with the exception of a dinner at Stoney River on Thursday.
    • Highs? Finally got the kitchen ready to go. DS is hysterical lately.
    • Lows? We worked really late on the kitchen and I'm exhausted. Also, DS is having a lot of tantrums lately and had a meltdown in the grocery store (his first).
    • Read anything good? Nope.
    • Watch anything good? Bones.
    • Eat/make anything good? Not really.
    • FFCs, vents, AWs, etc? (1) This will be vague, but I told my parents about something that happened a couple years ago and they showed sympathy and concern, which was appropriate. But then they told my sister that they were irritated that I didn't tell them sooner which almost makes me wish I didn't tell them at all except that I was tired of keeping it a secret for no real reason. (2) DH and I have to paint about half of our kitchen on Wednesday to keep the project on track. DH thinks we will be able to do it in the evening but I'm worried. It *is* a small space and should be very quick...but we need 2 coats and I'm afraid there won't be time. (3) DS is constantly amazing us with how much he is learning. He's also kind of hilarious lately!
    • What are you looking forward to this week? Watching the progress on our kitchen!!!!!!

  • Highs? Hanging out with my sister and her family last night.
Lows? Not doing anything around the house
    Read anything good? Nope
Watch anything good? Almost finished season 2 of Sons of Anarchy.  I'm loving that show!
Eat/make anything good? We went over to the ILs house for a ceremony.  DH made me Bibimbap, my favorite Korean dish and his mom made cucumber kimchi. We had queso, guac, and quesadillas at my sister's.
FFCs, vents, AWs, etc? I have a few lol. Seeing DH with the kids melts my heart.  Hearing him read stories to my nephew and cuddling with niece is not helping my baby fever :)I finally got my court situation worked out.  They subpoenaed me for the wrong case and the lawyer implied this is not uncommon.  Umm, these are people's lives! They need to be more organized. I fell in love with a 5 year old cat that's up for adoption at Petsmart.  DH wanted to look at the cats, knowing it upsets me. This guy broke my heart because his adoption fee keeps getting slashed because no one wants an "old" cat.  I broke down in tears and DH panicked lol.  He said "We're taking him home!" But apparently, there are no volunteers there on weekends to do adoptions!! The manager said to come back Friday when he knew someone would be able to help us. I was so frustrated.  I emailed the rescue organization so we'll see.  I know this is an emotional/impulsive decision but we've been talking about getting Button a companion for awhile now...
What are you looking forward to this week? RennFest on Sunday!

    • Eat/make anything good? Smith Island Cake
    • FFCs, vents, AWs, etc?
    • What are you looking forward to this week? Coming home to newly installed lighting today.
  • Highs? nothing particular - lots of family time, everybody was in a good mood, got some grocery shopping and meal planning done which was a major improvment over the last few weekends.

    • Lows? Couldn't sleep last night, so I'm exhausted and called out and then found out a major project had to be done today anyway.  So, I'm workign from home on like 4 hours sleep.
    • Read anything good? I'm re-reading Hunger Games.
    • Watch anything good? Still catching up on Mad Men and Breaking Bad
    • Eat/make anything good? Thai on Friday night - I've been craving it for awhile
    • FFCs, vents, AWs, etc?  My family is annoying.  No one talks to each other or plans anything - so I end up planning things, everyone goes "oh, great, thanks" and then when we actually get there, they constantly *** about it.  Uhhh - dumbasses, plan your own family events - ugh
    • What are you looking forward to this week? Being more organized this week.  I've been a mess the last few weeks.  I need to get my act together.

  • Highs? My cousin got married this weekend! The wedding was gorgeous, the bride was stunning, everyone had an incredible time. Two weeks ago we all came together as a family to say goodbye to my grandmother, so while it was certainly hard (especially for my cousin) to have this major happy event right after, it was also good in a lot of ways. Another major high was going to visit my grandfather. He hadn't yet met Liam and Mia hadn't seen him in awhile, so it was nice to visit with him and shower him in love. It was emotional, but good.

Lows? The tears. This is the first family event without Grandmom, and as anyone who's lost a loved one knows, those firsts are so hard. Pop-Pop is home from the hospital and getting stronger, but he chose not to attend, and it was the first event without him, too.

    Read anything good? Nope

Watch anything good? Ed and I are slowly working our way through the most recent season of True Blood and the episode we watched last night featured a hot 'n' heavy sex scene involving Alcide. I *may* have rewound and watched it a second time. Unf.

Eat/make anything good? Cookies at the wedding, crab cakes at Seaside on Sunday.

FFCs, vents, AWs, etc? I had a wound check with my OB's office this morning and while things are healing up and doing better than they anticipated, another section of my incision has opened. The doctor assures me it's not a big deal, but I am so beyond frustrated. I'm tired of being broken.

What are you looking forward to this week? We're meeting with a potential daycare provider on Wednesday who I really, really, really hope works out. Thursday I have a meeting for Mia's Daisy troop and since one of my BFFs is the troop leader, it's a meeting I'm sure I'll enjoy.

    • Highs? took DS to the go-cart track saturday
    • Lows? none really, can't complain
    • Read anything good? not this week
    • Watch anything good? don't even think I turned on the TV for more than 5 minutes
    • Eat/make anything good? Yes! I scored a really nice bread machine at Salvation Army for $12.50 and made my first loaf of bread. it was good and now I want to try more recipes
    • FFCs, vents, AWs, etc? I took on the task of pulling bins of clothes out of the attic, pulling out what B can wear for fall/winter and packing the stuff away that he has outgrown. I can't believe he is practically in 18 month stuff, and it makes me sad to know these cute tiny outfits will never be worn (in my house) again. oh, and my upstairs hallway is a disaster because I didn't finish the project so there are clothes everywhere.
    • What are you looking forward to this week? crossing some things off of my organizational list
