Planting Garlic - A few Questions...
I've never planted garlic before. Now is the time, right?
Question 1. Can I plant in a pot, or should it really be in the ground?
Question 2. If I can plant in a pot, can I leave it on my deck? I'm in New Jersey, so yes gets cold and snowy.
Question 3. If I cannot leave on deck, would it be ok in the unheated garage?
Re: Planting Garlic - A few Questions...
I planted garlic last year on the weekend of Halloween and it seemed to come out fine. That's when most people plant garlic. However, I was recently listening to "You Bet Your Garden" on NPR and they said that you should plant it in September despite what others say. They broadcast from Philadelphia. You should check them out.
The show also said that it's not easy to plant garlic in a pot but it can be done. You would need to keep it in an area that is not warm.
