furniture shopping - fabric durability advice? (restoration hardware mostly)

We are signing on our new house and I have been furniture researching for days on end. The house is not my dream house. It is smaller than I wanted and a split level, but a great location with a big yard and fully renovated to top quality. So...I figured, if I'm not getting my dream house with my dream bathrooms, windows, high cielings, and kitchen (y'know ladies...the one from "something's gotta give") then I at least deserve my dream furniture. Right?

Most of it is from restoration hardware and mostly really just for the living room right now. The bed is from Ethan Allen (all photos posted & labeled below)

My main concern is the fabric for the ottoman/coffee table and the wing chair. I would like to have children in the next couple of years which means sticky fingers, dirty feet and crayons, throw up and whatever else comes with babies/kids!! The couch is a quality leather so that we are comfortable with. But the chair and coffee table/ottoman are fabric. The info for the fabric is in the link.

both will be in army duck fabric, sand color

Here is the staged living room, dining room and kitchen...all one open floor plan. We will use the same layout.

All comments are welcome on the rooms in the house and any of the furniture. I really love advice and input!!

Thank you in advance :)

  • no idea why my links won't let me make them active..?? sorry, i guess you'll have to copy and paste into your browser :(
  • Hey.. Thanks for sharing your experiences here. If your house is small and there is less space to put furniture, you should consider buying multipurpose furniture like a sofa bed and folding furniture etc.
