This may have been asked before, but have any of you given a gift to your realtor? If so, what did you get them?
We're closing on our first home soon, and our realtor has been great. I'm thinking about getting her something little or maybe just sending a thank you card. I'm curious about whether this is typical or not. Thanks!
Re: Gift for Realtor?
We gave her referrals and a nice commission. But no gift. I mean, that is her job to be nice and helpful. I don't give my mechanic a gift when he tosses in a free wash with my oil change.
But this is a much debated topic and others do gift their agent. Perhaps a bottle of wine?
I've heard of realtors getting client a gift (gift cards usually), not the realtor receiving gift. They're getting commission off the sale so of course majority are fast and wonderful. I wouldn't have thought to buy realtor anything. I would just post positive review online and refer her/him to anyone looking for realtor/house.
Thanks for the responses.
I do think the commission is plenty for compensation, but I think I'll send her a thank you card to show appreciation. She put in a lot of work and provided very flexible hours for us.
As a realtor I've gotten nice bottles of wine, but I do not expect anything from my clients.
Referrals are the best compliment!
Thanks for the input!
