Dreams of a BFP?

Good morning ladies!

I lurk here often so I figure it's time I say hello. I married DH in May and we are loving married life! People ask us constantly when we're having babies. We adopted a rescue dog just before the wedding so our go-to response has been "we're struggling for the puppy, I think we'll hold off on kids for a while!" It usually gets a good laugh but it gets the point across that they should stop asking.

I had a pregnancy scare a few months ago (turns out it was food poisonning, but AF was late, I was exhausted, cranky, and throwing up a lot) and I POAS for the first time ever. It was a BFN and I was so relieved! I'm on the Nuvaring so I wasn't very concerned but my doctor still had me test just in case. Since then, I keep having dreams of a BFP. Don't get me wrong; we wants kids one day, but we want to enjoy each other, pay off a few debts, and travel before we start a family. I keep waking up with feelings of dread after these dreams. Anyone else having this?

Re: Dreams of a BFP?

  • I've dreamed I was pregnant a few times since getting married. I've also had a few pregnancy scares (because my period likes to screw with me for kicks & giggles).
  • I have had 3 pregnancy scares... YIKES! DH and I both want kids someday, and we talk about it often, but for right now, we are just enjoying each other. We are getting other stuff "out of the way" I guess. Like finishing school, buying a house, traveling, etc.

BUT lately I have had a lot of baby dreams too. And every time I see a baby I freak out and obsess over babies for the next few days. My sister even asked if we were expecting because of all of the baby stuff I have been pinning on Pinterest lately!!

As for the dreams, there's nothing really you can do about them. We can't control our dreams, so don't let them stress you out. And remind yourself that even if a baby comes before you and H are "ready," you will still be good parents and will love your baby.
