My husband and I like doing new things together, and we're wanting to learn a new language, or more, so we're starting Chinese today. Its mostly for fun so not sure how committed we're going to be, especially since its the hardest language to learn for english speakers. But so far we're catching on a little, and its hilarious hearing us speak like this!

what is something new you're trying with your spouse?
Re: Something new
That is so cool!! Good luck to you guys. I think learning a foreign language is a great thing to do.
It's not as exciting as learning a new language, but my H and I started running about a week ago. We've only gone twice so far, and he's in better shape than me. lol. But it's really awesome to do this together and motivate each other.
That's awesome! Good luck with it, I'm sure you'll start picking it up in no time.
nyc artist - DH & I also jog together, we've been doing it for years. It's great being able to be with him even if we're not really talking but we're there to push and motivate each other all the way.
Currently DH & I aren't doing anything new and exciting together, there just hasn't been too much available or that we've could attend weekly because DH's schedule changes every week. Hopefully something will come up soon!
Excercise is something we need to do more of. It's getting motivated to work out that's kind of hard. Before getting married I had more time for running/yoga. Anyways, now my H wants exercising to be in our plans and he says he's willing to try yoga with me, too. This should be interesting. But whatever it is we do, I can't wait for us to start getting in better shape. Good for y'all!
I'm not going to lie, the only reason we really work out is because of H's career, he's got to stay in shape so I started jogging with him and realized I actually enjoyed it, if it weren't for him I'd not get out there nearly as much. I also enjoy yoga but hubs would never do that with me lol.
Its great that everyone's finding hobbies. We're still kind of figuring that out. When we move a bit out of the city we want to buy bikes and start riding on local trails and in bike lanes, but traffic is a little heavy in and around our neighborhood for that right now. I've been thinking maybe I should join husband's running, but I like my own workout routine so I'm on the fence (and I hate running).
I'll stay tuned for more suggestions!
How fun! I would love to learn a different language. I bet you guys will start getting the hang of it and the best part is doing it together.
My husband and I joined the gym together and we went the first month every day, but haven't gone in for ever! My husband is way skinny and he can eat all day and not gain one lb, as to me, I can drink water and it'll go to my butt. Ha!!
Well enjoy it
and to everyone doing hobbies together enjoy it too!!
Bridget, aka water butt
That's pretty funny. Its the exact opposite with us
