Best women's cycling clothing? (road biking)
My DH has been roadbiking pretty seriously over the last 2 years and just road his second century ride. I am about to get my first road bike...getting a Trek Madone 3.1 WSD based on DH's and the bike shop's recs. Need recs on best cycling clothing...bike shorts/bibs, jerseys, shoes, etc!
Re: Best women's cycling clothing? (road biking)
Congrats on the new bike! My number one rec would be for a saddle - my bike would have been left on the side of the road a long time ago if I hadn't discovered ISM Adamo saddles! I use and love the Adamo Podium, but a close girlfriend loves her Adamo Road. TriSports.com has a demo program, if you're interested.
As far as buying cycling apparel and accessories, do some shopping on eBay. They have great deals on brand new saddles, shoes and jerseys. As I'm sure your husband knows, jerseys are expensive, but I was able to pick up a couple great ones for $5 on eBay a few weeks ago! Anything Pearl Izumi, Castelli, Louis Garneau, Verge and Sugoi, in my experience, have been super comfortable. Pearl Izumi kits and jerseys tend to be cutest, though! I actually think that the thin chamois on Pearl Izumi triathlon shorts (cut just like cycling shorts) are more comfortable than any cycling shorts I've ever worn, but experimenting to find what keeps your sensitive areas happiest is worth the time and money.
Have fun!!
