walking shoes

My husband and I are starting to go for walks more, and I really want some slip on walking shoes. Im really interested in the new go walks by sketchers. Any recommendations?

Re: walking shoes

  • When buying walking or running shoes, make sure you don't go off of looks/style but the support provided to your feet. I have never been a distance runner until this past summer because in the past I had always had issues with shin splints (getting so bad that walking was a painful task)

Not sure if you have a Fleet Feet store in your area but they are by far the best shoe store I have ever been to when it comes to running/walking shoes. They will look at your gait, watch you walk, and then fit you for a shoe based off your walking style. My running shoes were about $100, the store clerk said that generally speaking, they last between 350-450 miles so I won't need to replace them after just a couple months. (the store did have a lot of other styles and brands at lower price points too)

Nice work on getting active with the hubby!

I've heard of fleet feet, I'm sure there has to be one around here somewhere and I will definitely check it out. Thank you!
