We are remodeling our kitchen, and I'm having a hard time deciding on a color. The cabinets will be painted black, concrete countertops, wood flooring (maybe an oak). The backsplash isn't decided yet, but we're thinking of galvanized sheet metal. So, we need a color to soften the feel of the room. The other issue is that one of our kitchen walls flows into the living room, so we'd have to really like the color a lot.
I'd really like to go with a vibrant color (like a yellow/green), but I'm scared that it would be too much. Oh, and we have black leather furniture in our living room, so it would go with any color we chose.
Any ideas on colors and/or ways to soften the appearance of the space?
Re: Wall color help!
It obviously depends on your taste but so far I LOVE the black cabinets and concrete counter tops, very modern and industrial. I would say depending on your style either
A) If you're brave and it would match the decor of the living room go with something fun and funky.
C) Pick a color that you already have in your living room. Any color should do because black and grey can both match anything.
P.S
IDK about the steel because it may be a lot of grey between that and the countertops..
Good luck !
This. Our kitchen is brown-ish, our downstairs kitchen is BRIGHT yellow with darker countertops, black appliances.
I wouldnt do the steel either...to much dark and cold. What about a white or colorful tile for the backsplash to bring color in and then keeping the walls nuetral?
